Being the mother of a five year old, I was delighted to have the opportunity to review part of the I See Sam reading program from Academic Success for All Learners. We received the Little Books Sets 1-4, flash cards, a placement and assessment manual, and instructor guidelines.
When we started, E knew her letter sounds and had practiced sounding out words, but she would get tired quickly if we tried to read. From the moment we picked up the first book in Set 1, E loved it! We are working our way through the books, and I see her improving steadily as she reads.
As a homeschooling parent, my absolute favorite thing about teaching my girls is watching them learn to read. The Little Books from I See Sam are wonderful! E loves the characters and looks forward to finding out what will happen in the next book.
I appreciate the fact that these books are so affordable! Each set is available for $30, and you receive a lot for your money!

The Instructor’s Guidelines, give step by step ideas for teaching. The booklet is easy to follow and clear in its direction. It gives great practical tips for achieving reading success for your child.
The I See Sam YouTube Channel is particularly helpful, with model lessons that give techniques for teaching.
